Quick Pass Application Fee Waiver
Loading...
As part of our institutional commitment to expanding college access for students from all backgrounds, Amherst College wants to be certain that application fees do not pose a financial barrier for students who wish to submit an application to Amherst, so we encourage you to pursue any fee waiver opportunities for which you may be eligible. We suggest that you determine your eligibility for the general application fee waivers issued by the Common Application and the Coalition Application, since those fee waivers are automatically effective for
all
schools to which you submit the associated application.
Amherst accepts the general application fee waivers issued by the Common Application or the Coalition Application, but we also have our own institutional fee waiver option -- Quick Pass – that allows even broader criteria as the basis for an application fee waiver for Amherst. Please complete the following form (both the biographical and questionnaire sections) and then submit to see if you qualify for an Amherst Quick Pass application fee waiver.
Note: If you are confirmed as eligible for a Quick Pass Fee Waiver, you should activate the Quick Pass
at the time you submit your applicatio
n
, by selecting the Quick Pass Fee Waiver option in response to the associated question on the Amherst-specific pages of the Common Application or Coalition Application. We are unable to issue refunds for retroactive fee waivers for applicants who have already submitted their application with payment, rather than fee waiver.

Important Information on Transfer Application Fee Waivers
Using the Common Application?
For students planning to apply through the Common Application for Transfer, we strongly advise using the Common App Fee Waiver as the first option, if possible, as the Common App Fee Waiver will be immediately processed within the Common App system and is automatically effective for all schools to which you submit the Common App. To determine your eligibility, review the criteria listed in the “Common App Fee Waiver” section of the “Personal Information” quadrant of your Common Application.
If you determine that you are not eligible for a Common Application Fee Waiver, please complete our Quick Pass form below. If you are eligible for an Amherst College Quick Pass fee waiver, we will send you an individualized “coupon code” by email within 72 business hours. You must enter that coupon code into the on the payment page of your Common Application prior to submission.
Note: If you are submitting the Quick Pass form within 72 hours of our application deadline, you will be granted a deadline extension and will not be penalized for late submission.
Using the Coalition Application?
For students planning to apply through the Coalition Application for Transfer, you may use either the Coalition Fee Waiver or the Amherst Quick Pass Fee Waiver. The Coalition Fee Waiver will be effective for all schools to which you submit the Coalition App, but both types of fee waivers can be easily processed on your Coalition App and will not require a coupon code.
